Perks of online education

Perks of Online Education Traditional classrooms offer a learning environment suitable for most students. In the present day with the technology that exists, there are more options to obtain a higher education. Deciding which style fits depends on a student’s needs. Students are able to achieve degrees online and by attending traditional schools; however, school online gives more freedom to individuals, allowing them to receive a higher education and to work a full time job. Trotter said, ” On some days, Vail works as late as 5 a. m. then sleeps late in the morning. Her 90 students have permission to call her as late as 10 p. m.; one boy who works at an after-school job until that hour may call her as late as 11 p. m., and he does” (Trotter). This flexible schedule allows any of her students the chance to receive higher education while taking care of their responsibilities in everyday life. Online and traditional classrooms are similar in many ways, but online education is beneficial to people that still need to make a living. Online Education provides an education equal to the traditional classroom in its cost and flexibility. Online Education is beneficial to students who need to pay bills and want to attend school. The high cost in traveling to a traditional school has forced many people to switch to an online school. Georglyn Davidson said, ” Gas prices have pushed people over the edge” (Dillon). When traveling to a traditional classroom, students need to pay for gas. Gas prices are augmenting, which makes it difficult for many students to pay for their daily commute to school while still paying for tuition. These significant increases in gas prices have caused many people to stop attending traditional schools and to enroll in an online school. In an online school, there is no need for commuting to class because the class can be taken in the comfort of one’s home. In this environment, students can get their degree and eliminate traveling costs entirely. In addition, gas prices will continue to impact students’ decisions on attending traditional schools. Kameron Miller stated, that she will take three classes on an online school because traveling to school for a month cost her around $200 (Dillon). As long as people still need to pay bills, deleting costs is still important. If people attend a traditional school they need to drive to school several times a week as opposed to a cyber school where students do not need to commute to school. People in this situation think about saving money any way they can. The best way for students to save money is by cutting down on tuition; the cost of attending an online school is much lower than attending a more traditional school. She is easily saving money by taking online classes and expunging commuting costs. If gas prices keep rising, many people in the same situation will also need to drop out of a traditional school and start enrolling in online courses. Attending an online school is a much better option which save money to pay for bills. Additionally, cyber schools are also beneficial to people who do not have enough time to attend a traditional school. The flexibility of an online class helps students while still completing their daily tasks. A wise man once said, ” It’s up to you when to study, allowing you to schedule your class work around a part-time or full-time job” (” What are…”). Online education is made for students who have other commitments. The opportunity to attend class anytime and anywhere is tempting, especially for people who work long hours and do not live near the campus of the school they want to attend. An online school allows a student’s daily schedule be formed around their own life, but if going to a traditional school a person’s daily life must be based around the school. Online schools offer a more pliable learning environment made for students that have jobs or special activities that they need to attend to. This allows students to study on their own time and helps students get better grades on their exams. In addition, students take online courses because the flexibility can benefit one’s learning speed. An individual mentioned, in an online school a student as the opportunity to complete the class and graduate quicker rather than a traditional school (” What are…”). While individual schools and programs will vary, it is likely that going to school online will allow people more control over when and where they study. Many people do not learn by the same methods or at the same pace. For some students, traditional schools are holding back their learning potential. Since students can log into online classes at any time of day or night, they can learn new material much quicker, as opposed to a traditional school where you go at the same pace as everyone else. Overachieving students can complete classes and graduate faster because the flexibility of online schools, allows students to go at their own pace. Students are not all the same, and flexibility in online education helps them succeed in school and still keep their commitments. Thus, cost and flexibility in online classes provides an equal education to a traditional classroom. Before students think that a traditional education is better they should see all the disadvantages of a traditional classroom and advantages of the online classes. While the cost is to high and flexibility is hard to demand, it is keeping many students from a quality education. Vail works late and sleeps till late morning, but her students have permission to still ask questions at almost any time of day. This allows students as hard working as herself to still have time to work and go to school. Online Education offers a schedule that is compatible with any students given circumstances. If students are not attending school because of a money problem or they have other commitments to attend to, online education is a perfect option. Online education is an option that is available to everyone, and becomes even more popular today.
